On the heels of the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament, sports fans are eyeing the next global competition, the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from 26 July to 11 August. However, Nigerian athletes may appear as pariahs at the XXXIII Olympiad, much like their Venezuelan counterparts. The World Anti-Doping Agency announced on 13 February that it was referring both countries to the Court of Arbitration for Sport , an independent body based in Switzerland, to investigate alleged non-compliance with WADA rules.
