series could be this faithful to the comics in such an extreme, far-out kind of way?
We always come back to: you might not understand exactly what you just saw, but how did it make you feel? That was sort of our guiding principle. The new episodes revolve around a zombie butt apocalypse, and that's not even the weirdest thing about this season. Have the writers ever come up with an idea that's too weird even forI think what sort of gets us through, again, the absurdities, and not just finding the beating heart of it – it’s making sure that our characters, no matter the situation, they stay true to themselves.
It’s living in the spectacular – it’s living in a place like Danny – but also living in, again, the very grounded and not always very spectacular reality of now that we’re trying to have these characters confront and deal with.
