Dontblvmejustwatch and Randy Getto captured the Aug. 11 evening feature race at Northside Downs in 1:56.2. CONTRIBUTED/TANYA ROMEONORTH SYDNEY — Dontblvmejustwatch led all the way and stepped to his third win in four starts since arriving in Cape Breton, taking the winners over in one minute 56.2 seconds to highlight an eight-race program at Northside Downs on Aug. 11.
Randy Getto, who co-owns with Susan MacSween and Wayne Hardy, fired from the rail and was on top of the field of seven at the opening quarter in 28.2. The margin of victory at the finish was three-and-a-half lengths over Runaway Mystery, with Mando Fun for third. It was one of two wins on the day for Getto, who also guided Red Rum She Wrote to a 2:01 victory for owner Martin Bates.
QTS Charlie paced to a new personal best 1:56.2 for owner John Murphy, trainer Jeremy Baker and driver Shawn Lynk. The six-year-old gelding won by four lengths over A Better Man and Shadow Of A Daut. Meanwhile, Topofthebar Tessa opened the evening by pacing to a maiden mark of 2:04.1 for owner, trainer and driver Ken Passerini.
Other winners Thursday evening included: Indywheelbarrow in 1:59.4 for Kevin Bailey and co-owners Brynn White, Rebecca MacKenzie and Kim Gottwald, Gotfaithincowboys for Martin Bates and owner Angus Gillis in 2:03.3, Pay Line in 1:59.4, a new mark, for Ryan Campbell and owner Roddie Gillis, and Shadowcross Hooper in 2:02.2, also a new mark for Adam Lynk and owners Richie and Sandra O'Donnell.The next live card of racing is scheduled for Aug.
