Rustico Bay Ceilidh and dance will be held Nov. 26, 8 p.m., with Haché performing songs of various musical genres, with an emphasis on old country, rock ’n’ roll and music of the Maritimes. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. There will be a bar service and a 50-50 draw. Admission is $12 at the door for this 19-and-over event. The venue is at 2104 Church Rd., Rustico. 27th annual Christmas Ceilidh is Dec. 4, 6:30 p.m., at St. Paul’s Hall, Route 17A, Sturgeon. Celebrate with the Sturgeon Ceilidh crew, as well as special guests Celtic harpist Jill Harris, step dancer Vanessa Bernard with Shirley Bernard, Evy Lou and Leith McCarron and Santa. There will be lunch and a 50-50 draw. Admission is $5 at the door, which opens at 6 p.m.
Under the Spire Music Festival’s Songs of the Season, featuring Tim Chaisson and friends, is Nov. 25, 7:30 p.m., at historic St. Mary’s in Indian River. Indigenous Artisans Christmas Market is Nov. 26, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Confederation Centre of the Arts, Charlottetown, with over 30 Indigenous artisans from across the Mi’kmaq Territory of Epekwitk together to share their history, art and culture. A book signing for P.E.I. author Theresa Redmond is Nov. 26, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Chapters Indigo, 455 University Ave., Charlottetown. Her novel, Bound, is set in the late 1700s and tells the story of a privileged young English woman who travels to the colony of St. John’s Island as the mistress of the governor and, witnessing injustice on the Island, becomes the reluctant leader of the local emancipation movement. - ContributedA lecture is Nov. 25, 7 p.m.
A lecture by Mary Jeanette Gallant is Nov. 30, 7 p.m., in the Katherine Hughes Memorial Hall in the Irish Cultural Centre at 582 North River Rd., Charlottetown. Gallant, chair of the Glenaladale Heritage Trust, will speak about the trust and the 250-year anniversary celebration that took place this past June and July.
