The four hospitals under the Lakeridge umbrella are in Oshawa, Ajax/Pickering, Bowmanville and Port Perry. The statement is specific on medical emergencies, stating that anyone in a situation that poses an immediate threat to life and, “where rapid medical intervention is critical and needed right away,” should call 911 or go to the emergency department pronto.Article content

Anyone with a medical issue that is less serious is asked to consider such community care options as virtual care, urgent care centres, family doctor, a seniors’ urgency room, COVID-19 assessment centres, and Health Connect Ontario .
