“It is our understanding that Equinor’s proposal at this time is to construct the entire FPSO outside of the country,” King told SaltWire.That’s why TradesNL launched a"Build Right Here" campaign on Monday, Jan. 23, to encourage municipal and business leaders, and the public, to be vocal in their support for local construction jobs from the Bay du Nord project.Darin King, executive director of TradesNL.
“It’s too late to close the door once the horse is out,” he said, “so we’re just trying to get ahead of this, to advocate and try to get people engaged in some discussions on it. King added TradesNL understands that the hull for the FPSO can’t be built in Newfoundland because there’s no facility to handle that kind of project.
