Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Luc Besson returns to the director's chair with another unique take on the character-driven thriller genre with DogMan. The movie serves as Besson's first directorial effort in five years, with his previous being the 2019 action-thriller Anna.
In honor of the movie's North American release, Screen Rant interviewed Jones and Gibbs to discuss DogMan. The former reflected on the unique experience of making the character-driven drama, recalling the loneliness he sometimes felt in playing the character, as well as the joys of exploring Doug's journey. Gibbs, in turn, recalled her initial nerves in coming right to the production from another set, and the fun of bonding with Jones off camera.
DogMan Stars Put Their Warm Dynamic On Full Display Jojo, you have a fascinating side story with your character, but I also love the dynamic that you have with Caleb here throughout the movie. What was it like developing that rapport with Caleb and finding the heart of your character separately? Caleb Landry Jones: I had already been filming for a month, and then had been there a month before that. So I'd gotten my jitters out of the way. But Jojo had come straight from another job, and the first time we met was that scene, the first scene in the film. We had three days to do everything we did together in the film, so when you talk about any work beforehand, it was all separate.
