Manchester City showed zero signs of complacency this weekend as they prepared for their Champions League clash against Young Boys with a resounding victory against AFC Bournemouth.
While nobody of a City persuasion is likely to admit it, the Blues and the Cherries were mismatched on the afternoon as Pep Guardiola's side won 6-1. Bernardo Silva grabbed a brace and Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden and Nathan Ake added gloss to the scoreline. But, it was Jeremy Doku who stole the headlines with a whopping five-goal contributions. Having only arrived in Manchester at the end of August, following a £55million deal with Rennes, Doku has made an instant impact with his direct style of play. The goal contributions came flooding in on Saturday but the winger insists his teammates are the reason behind recent success.City's Club World Cup opponents confirmed City will be in Club World Cup action next month and the complete line up for the tournament has now been confirmed.
The Blues earned their sport in the competition thanks to lifting the Champions League title in June when they defeated Inter Milan 1-0 with Rodri scoring the winner. They will travel to Saudi Arabia for the competition next month.
