World Rugby has been accused of deliberately overlooking Springbok chief Rassie Erasmus in its Coach of the Year award category.
World Rugby has been accused of holding a grudge against and deliberately overlooking Springbok chief Rassie Erasmus in its Coach of the Year award category.
In terms of silverware, Erasmus’ Springboks collected the Qatar Cup, the Mandela Challenge Plate, the Freedom Cup, the Rugby Championship and the Prince William Cup. Instead, France sevens coach Jérôme Daret scooped the coveted award for guiding his team to a first SVNS Series title in 19 years and an Olympic Gold medal at the games in Paris.
“My word, World Rugby can hold a grudge … Rassie not named COTY is probably the most ridiculous thing I have seen in rugby this year, and my oath, there have been some ridiculous things in rugby this year!!!” Front Row Grunt wrote. A former Orlando Pirates player has warned Mofokeng, Nkota and Sesane. Do you think it was the right thing to do?
