May will be eligible to pitch in the postseason and the Dodgers are optimistic that the injury was caught early enough that he will be healed and ready to pitch for them when their National League Division Series begins on October 11. He was given six days off between starts earlier this month when he was bothered by arm soreness and pitched five no-hit innings at San Francisco when he returned to the mound. In his next start , however, he gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks in four innings.
