LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers made another trade to bolster their pitching staff just before Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline, acquiring left-hander Ryan Yarbrough from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for minor league first baseman Devin Mann and 19-year-old shortstop Derlin Figueroa.
The Royals signed Yarbrough to a one-year, $3 million deal this past offseason after he was non-tendered by the Tampa Bay Rays, and he still has one more year of arbitration eligibility before becoming a free agent. Mann, 26, appeared in 89 games for the Oklahoma City Dodgers, hitting .307 with 14 home runs and 71 RBIs. He has been in the Dodgers’ minor league system for six seasons, hitting a combined .270 with 65 homers and 288 RBIs in 485 games. He was drafted in the fifth round in 2018 out of Louisville.
