Doctor Who often likes to feature old companions and storylines, but Power of the Doctor managed to kill one popular classic-Who era romance.

Doctor Who often returns to previous companions, but doing this in “The Power of the Doctor” killed a fifth Doctor companion romance in the worst way. “The Power of the Doctor” brought back plenty of old companions in Doctor Who in celebration of the BBC’s 100th Anniversary, and it also marked Jodie Whittaker’s final regular appearance as the Doctor.

Tegan Doesn't Mention Nyssa In The Power Of The Doctor Despite RTD confirming the long-standing rumors, this was all undone in “Power of the Doctor” when Tegan returned. Tegan worked with Ace, a previous companion who traveled with the seventh Doctor. As Ace and Tegan investigated the abduction of a dozen of seismologists, Tegan mentions going through several husbands but never mentions Nyssa.
