Hayley Atwell's Captain Carter joins the cast of Doctor Strange in the MultiverseOfMadness in a multiverse-bending fan poster.
A new fan poster for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness imagines Hayley Atwell playing Captain Carter the live-action movie. Atwell made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Agent Peggy Carter in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. As its title implies, Carter witnessed Steve Rogers get administered the Super Soldier Serum and become Captain America.
In What If…?’s pilot, entitled “What If... Captain Carter Were the First Avenger,” Peggy is administered the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers and, therefore, becomes Captain Carter. She goes on to lead the Guardians of the Multiverse to victory against Ultron in the final episodes of season 1. What If…? has been confirmed as canon within the MCU, and many assume the multiversal series will tie into the live-action films.
In the comics, the Illuminati includes Professor X, Mr. Fantastic, Iron Man, Black Bolt, Namor, and Doctor Strange. Promos suggest that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ multiversal Illuminati will feature Charles Xavier, Monica Rambeau, Mordo, and Captain Carter. It remains to be seen if the latter character is indeed the same one from What If…? or simply another variant. Regardless, fans can’t wait to see Atwell’s shield in live-action and in theaters on May 6th.
