🔴 Dnipro tower block death toll rises to 21 after Russian missile attack
At least 35 people are still missing, Mykola Lukashuk, head of the regional council, wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
Earlier, Valentyn Reznichenko, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region in central eastern Ukraine, said on Telegram that 73 people were injured and 40 hospitalised, including four in intensive care, following the strike on Saturday. Hundreds of people have been left homeless due to the attack. Rescuers have worked through the night in sub-zero conditions to retrieve casualties and search for survivors.Dnipro’s deputy mayor, Mikhailo Lysenko, said in a video posted on social media that residents underneath the debris had been sending text messages to make rescuers aware they were still alive.“The rescue operation is ongoing.
Mr Zelensky tweeted: “Eternal memory to all whose lives were taken by Russian terror! The world must stop evil. Debris clearance in Dnipro continues. All services are working. We’re fighting for every person, every life. We’ll find everyone involved in terror. Everyone will bear responsibility. Utmost.”
Mr Zelensky has also called for more international support as he thanked Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, for decisions he said will strengthen Ukraine on the battlefield.The Prime Minister made the promise during a call with Mr Zelensky on Saturday morning.
