She said several of the genetic profiles came from unknown sources and were labeled as unknown male A and unknown male B. Among those listed as coming from the first anonymous suspect were blood stains found on a vinyl carpet and stair moulding in the home and a rock found in the alley behind the 10th Avenue S.E. residence.
In 2020, Reader compared those exhibits to cast-off DNA seized by police investigating Cochrane after homicide Det. Ken Carrier used investigative genetic genealogy to identify Cochrane as a potential suspect.
