Released on Friday, December 13, the five-track musical offering showcases the multi-award-winning DJ and music producer’s versatility as it fuses Afro house rhythms with uplifting beats and powerful storytelling.This includes “Mama ”, a deeply personal lead track which includes the powerful bilingual vocals of Deutsch, who sings in English, and LindAlive, who adds isiZulu to the song.
Produced by Fresh and his long-time collaborator Shona SA, the song is an ode to the enduring love, strength and sacrifice of mothers. On working with Deutsch, whose first song was championed by Fresh on 5FM nearly 15 years ago, Fresh said: “This collaboration feels serendipitous and it’s a song that’s raw, honest and filled with love.”
“I keep playing it in my head even when I’m not supposed to because I’m so happy about how I got to be part of this project,” he explained.
