Heavy rain brought disruption to the rail network on Saturday afternoon with ‘some lines’ being ‘blocked’.
It led to passengers facing a nightmare trying to get across the country this afternoon. The disruption added to the chaos seen across the network over the last few months, which have been beset by strikes, cancellations, and engineering work.“Heavy rain flooding the railway between Stalybridge and Huddersfield means that some lines are blocked,” a statement from National Rail said. “As a result, trains running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed.
