Disgruntled ANC North West members fail at Con Court
Disgruntled ANC members in North West, who took the party to the Constitutional Court to challenge the legitimacy of the provincial conference, had their hopes dashed when the apex court refused them direct access to their appeal on Monday.
Lebogang Medupi, Lesego Serapelwane, Puso Moeng, Sello Molefe and Itumeleng Moswane lodged a high court case to challenge the election of the top five members in the province and lodged an urgent case with the Constitutional Court, but their case was declined as they had not followed procedure.While the group was the applicant in the case, the ANC was cited as the first respondent and the new provincial chairperson, Nono Maloyi, as the second.
City Press understands that the group failed to address the urgency issue with the Constitutional Court.There was no urgency on their matter, and they also failed to demonstrate which section of the ANC law was unconstitutional in the challengeThe insider said the group had not followed the correct processes, but went straight to the highest court.
