EXLC: Disabled woman vows to clear her name after being jailed after suffering a ‘racist attack’ Crowdfunding campaign for legal challenge tops £20,000 following conviction by all-white jury by LeahMahon_

Crowdfunding campaign for legal challenge tops £20,000 following conviction by all-white juryA BLACK woman is fighting to overturn a “wrongful conviction” after she was convicted of attacking another woman.

According to her previous defence team, she was called a “jungle c***” and “black b****” during the ordeal.Siyanda, who had never had a criminal conviction until the incident, sustained bruising and swelling to her legs, chest and ribs, chunks of her hair had been ripped out and says she “had a footprint on the left side of my face” and was “dragged around during the attack like a ragdoll.”

“She’s a victim of a racist attack and she ended up like the history of persecution around these things that very often when black people call the police in relation to racial attacks, they’re the ones who end up getting arrested,” he said.

The people involved in the altercation were not taken into custody, arrested or charged. Three out of the five witnesses present who were either related or friends, which included the woman and two women involved in the altercation, were ordered to stay on the campsite and their statements not taken by the police till the next day.

“Now that I’ve come out again, I had that amazing adrenaline rush of being out and being with my family, but to be honest talking about what happened and joining in with this campaign, trying to push out this message and this story does have a massive toll on my mental health.” “I really need to get into a certain space myself, but definitely in the future, in the long run it’s definitely something [racialised trauma] that I want to be able to help and support people, but also to highlight and raise awareness about,” she said. “If you’ve got trauma, it’s triggering to talk about the trauma. And so, I have to get myself in a better space first but it will definitely be something I will highlight.
