Pretoria has accepted Brazil’s nomination of Benedicto Fonseca Fonseca as its ambassador, diplomatic sources told. This followed the South African government’s alleged rejection of Brazil’s previous choice, the controversial evangelist pastor, gospel singer and former mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Bishop Marcelo Crivella.
