Diogo Jota has picked one player he would like to sign for Liverpool
The 26-year-old will celebrate his three-year anniversary as a Reds attacker on September 19, after making the switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee, reportedly, rising to £45m.
The Portugal international can play across the front line but has frequently been deployed as a centre-forward or left-sided attacker in Jurgen Klopp's side. While Jota missed out on a Champions League and Premier League winners medal after narrowly losing out to the accolades in 2021-22, he did scoop both domestic cups in their pursuit of a quadruple.
The Reds know of the former AS Monaco midfielder's qualities after enduring fierce battles with City, during his spell at Anfield. Pep Guardiola's Citizens have proved stern competition for Liverpool to usurp at the pinnacle of English football but have gained the upper hand over their rivals to win the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in 2022.
An opening subsequently emerged when Mane opted to make the move to Bayern Munich, in light of their domestic cup double. As he approaches his third year at Anfield, two of which he has been a bonafide starting option, he has scored 42 goals in 117 appearances.
