Diners have shown their support for a popular Nottinghamshire restaurant that has banned customers who failed to turn up after a weekend of 'no-shows'. Staff at Italian venue La Storia, West Bridgford, said six tables had not been honoured on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9.
In a post on social media, it was confirmed one customer who tried to reschedule their reservation at the Musters Road venue was banned. Explaining the situation, a post on the eatery's Instagram stated: "If we have six tables not turn up per week that's almost £50,000 a year [lost].
"We take deposits, but this doesn't cover the huge loss of repeated no shows. Thank you to those who are not in this category, and all our regulars who never let us down." The move was supported by Nottinghamshire Live readers. On our Facebook page, Chris Stansfield said: "I never understand no shows. When you book a table you have entered into a contract which should be honoured. I am not fond of deposits but that is probably the way forward because many of today's generation seem to ignore what doesn't suit them."
Amanda Dixon-Smith added: "I don't blame them." And Carol Smallpeice said: "Terrible, no excuse for not letting you know. Deposits has to be the answer." And in support of the restaurant, Lisa Morley said: "This is a fantastic restaurant. If you haven't been, make a booking and help them make up for lost revenue. You won't be disappointed."
