SINGAPORE: A netizen took to social media to point out that an order of hor fun at an eatery at Toa Payoh had gone up by $2 in just one month.

“just 1 mth ago, Up $2 more,” Mr Oliver Weng wrote in a post on the COMPLAINT SINGAPORE Facebook page on Monday . He posted a picture of side-by-side receipts from Cafe New Asia, located at Toa Payoh North. On the right is a receipt from June 14, 2023, and on the left is one from July 15, 2023, meaning there is only a 30-day gap between the dates of buying from the eatery. On June 14, the price of the dish was $6, and with the 8 per cent GST added, the total was $6.50.Mr Weng highlighted the dates of purchase and well as the prices on both receipts.

One other netizen gloomily warned about “9 percent coming soon” as the Goods and Services Tax is set to go up by 1 per cent again by the beginning of next year.
