In May 2018, then-President Donald Trump established the 'White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative,' an effort that the Trump administration said would give faith-based organizations a 'voice in the White House.'
It shall be the policy of the executive branch to vigorously enforce Federal law’s robust protections for religious freedom.... All executive departments and agencies shall, to the greatest extent practicable and to the extent permitted by law, respect and protect the freedom of persons and organizations to engage in religious and political speech.
The paramount goal is compassionate results, and private and charitable community groups, including religious ones, should have the fullest opportunity permitted by law to compete on a level playing field, so long as they achieve valid public purposes, such as curbing crime, conquering addiction, strengthening families and neighborhoods, and overcoming poverty.
