A road search conducted on Sunday morning in Klawer resulted in the seizure of 29 uncut diamonds, rubies and a significant amount of cash. Here's more:
On Sunday morning, while conducting a roadblock on the N7 near Klawer, members attached to Operation Restore noticed a suspicious Toyota bakkie with two occupants.
They proceeded to search the bakkie and its occupants, leading to the discovery of 29 unpolished diamonds and a significant amount of cash in the possession of one occupant, and three unpolished rubies in the possession of the other occupant.The stones were seized and both suspects, aged 33 and 46, were immediately arrested. The vehicle was also confiscated as evidence.
