Christian Slater, Patrick Gibson, and more are tapped to star in leading roles in the new Dexter prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin.
, Gibson will play a young Dexter Morgan in the upcoming prequel series, which is set in the early 1990s. Slater will play Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan, while“Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter in 1991 Miami, as a student transitioning into a serial killer in training,” Deadline’s description reads. “When his bloodthirsty urges can no longer be ignored, Dexter finds solace and understanding in Harry.
Phillips also serves as an executive producer on Dexter: Original Sin alongside Scott Reynolds, Michael C. Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Robert Lloyd Lewis serves as a producer, while Michael Lehmann is a directing executive producer.was initially played by Hall in the eight-season Showtime series that premiered in 2006. His father was played by James Remar in the original series, while Jennifer Carpenter portrayed Debra.
Following the conclusion of the original series, Hall and Carpenter reprised their roles in a continuation titled Dexter: New Blood, which premiered in November 2023.
