Devils sign Jonas Siegenthaler to five-year contract extension

Siegenthaler inked last summer is worth $1.125 million, so this extension features a significant raise for the defender. Siegenthaler was selected in the second round of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Washington Capitals. He made his NHL debut for the Capitals in 2018-19 and played in 97 games with the team over parts of three seasons.Siegenthaler was traded to the Devils in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. He put together a breakout season on New Jersey’s blueline, logging a career-high 20:34 per night over the course of 70 games.
