- Bashiera Parker, News24 royal reporterMusic is playing at Westminster Abbey as King Charles III and Queen Camilla enter St Edward's Chapel behind the high altar.Here are key timing's following the coronation ceremonyAs he leaves the abbey, the king will wear his grandfather's Robe of Estate, made of purple silk velvet embroidered in gold.
They will be escorted by 4 000 soldiers in ceremonial dress.Heir to the throne Prince William, his wife Kate and their children Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte will follow in another carriage.Charles and Camilla arrive at Buckingham Palace.The newly crowned king and queen are greeted by a royal salute from the military in the palace gardens.Charles and Camilla and members of the royal family appear on the palace balcony to watch a flypast.
Republic chief executive Graham Smith was one of those held before the group had a chance to wave placards declaring"Not my king".As Charles was crowned, a gun salute was fired by The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, stationed at Horse Guards Parade, and further down the River Thames at the Tower of London.
