Barratt Homes has been working with the RSPB since 2014
A developer has won a gold award from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds for its wildlife friendly gardens on a development near Newark. Barratt Homes has created a garden in line with the RSPB guidance at its Fernwood Village development, which includes multiple features to support and enhance nature and natural habitats.
The gardens awarded gold belong to three of the developer's show homes, Kingsville, Maidstone and Alderney, which are available for house hunters to tour at the development. Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “We have had a national partnership with the RSPB for some time now and want to ensure that we’re doing that extra bit to retain and build upon the natural habitats around our developments.
“The new gardens are already teeming with life and anyone that comes to our Fernwood Village development will be able to take a look around and pick up some great tips for their own home gardens.” The developer has been working with the RSPB since 2014, and in this time they have worked to show how new homes and homeowners can help nature and support wildlife.
This agreement was made between the two organisations to look for opportunities to boost natural habitats at developments across the country.
