As much as I was tearing my hair out for a while there, I came away wanting to see…more stuff like The Other Half in Destiny?
reallylegendary weapon. I suppose you could have one unique shader that only drops shiny weapons, and we’ve seen that a few times in the past with rare shaders .
However, I kind of like what The Other Half did with its element change. It would be interesting to me if say, 1 out of every 100 Cartesian Coordinates was a arc instead of solar, harkening back to the days when elemental weapons could be multiple different elemental types. Sometimes weaponsreflect their elements in visible ways, like Omolon weapons and their liquid ammo pools, so you could still see that on the gun visually as well, in addition to the color of your bullets.
As for a better perk pool? That I’m less sure about. I got lucky with my Other Half roll, but trying to farm an actual roll on a “shiny” weapon like this is borderline impossible, given the drop rates. Granted, I guess that’s similar to trying to find a Pokémon that’s both shiny100% IV, but still. I think getting a good base roll would be hard enough, much less having Bungie come up with a completely different perk pool every time they did something like this.
I think there’s potential in this idea, however. The Other Half was a maddening, but ultimately satisfying hunt. The sword is not even like…that incredible, it was just so rare for me I wasto finally land one. Sure, you can chase 5/5 god rolls and Mythoclast drops, but this felt different, and I’d like to see more of it in the future.
