Denver may get a snowy New Year's Day but first, a couple of sunny days. COwx

In the mountains, snow will develop through the day, and overnight totals could reach a foot of accumulation by Saturday morning in some areas. Rabbit Ears Pass is expected to get the most snow, while lesser amounts are expected along the Interstate 70 corridor through Summit County.Saturday in Denver will be sunny again with a high of 49 degrees. Clouds will start forming later in the day as the low gets down to 26 degrees again.

Snow will continue over the mountains this weekend, though it will be lighter with accumulations will mainly be confined to the ridges.Another storm system will move across the state Sunday night into Monday, and Denver has a 90% of snow Monday. Significant snow is possible across the area, and freezing rain is possible on the plains.
