She is the Democratic nominee in the race for Allegheny County executive that has her as the favored candidate to win. Her departure from the House leaves the chamber with a 101-101 divide until a special election is held in September.
Rep. Sara Innamorato submitted her one-sentence resignation letter to House Speaker Joanna McClinton, D-Philadelphia, on Wednesday.
