CLEVELAND — Dejounte Murray punctuated his two-hand slam off a spectacular feed from LaMelo Ball by loudly slapping the backboard with both hands before falling back to the court.He let them know after the game that he plans on coming back.
“There ain’t no way I can miss out on these types of events. It was a hell of a weekend. I have to keep working.” “The future of the league,” Murray said, referring to himself, Ball and several other first-time All-Stars. Murray checked into the game for the first time at the start of the second quarter. Before taking the court, he respectfully shook hands with each member of the officiating crew.
“I was just going out there trying to play hard,” he said. “It was my first All-Star Game and you got to earn minutes. I knew it was going to be real tight. I was thankful to be here. I had so much fun with the guys. They all embraced me, especially the ones who have been here before. I was just enjoying the moment.”Murray is the first Spur to play in an All-Star Game since LaMarcus Aldridge did it in 2018 and 2019.
