Murphy’s attorney spells out the reasoning in detail in an 8-page motion filed on March 8th -- claiming Murphy was deprived of his Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights.Murphy was arrested in February of 2023 and charged with rape and sodomy -- while on duty. Then another alleged victim came forward and in May 2023 Murphy was booked back into Metro Jail -- charged with sodomy -- sources say Murphy was also on duty when this alleged sex crime took place.
