Both sides need to 'work quickly' to end strikes, says RMT rail union boss
The boss of the RMT rail union has said that both sides involved in the long-running dispute over pay and jobs need to "work quickly" to end the strikes.

The union leader also said that the pay offer which he would describe as "acceptable" would depend on the conditions attached.
A spokesman for the RDG told the BBC on Friday that talks were a "painstaking process", but added they had been "constructive" so far. "We need to make sure that colleagues across the country get a fair pay rise that is balanced by a sensible set of reforms that make sure that the railway is safeguarded for the future," he added.
The company has said there would be a guarantee of no compulsory redundancies until the end of January 2025.
