FREMONT — A death was reported Friday morning at the California School for the Blind, according to authorities.
The death was reported in the area of 500 Walnut Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol log. The investigation is ongoing and CHP, which is involved because it is a state-run school, declined to release further details about the person or circumstances of the death. Fremont Fire Department personnel responded at about 7:13 a.m. to a medical emergency in the area of Gallaudet Drive, the location of the California School for the Deaf, which is next to the school for the blind, according to dispatch. It was not immediately clear if the investigation into the death and the medical emergency call are related.
The school for the blind referred media requests to the California Department of Education, which didn’t immediately respond to multiple requests for comment.Check back for updates
