Kieran McGinlay passed away at the Bishopbriggs prison earlier this month after being remanded to the jail by Paisley Sheriff Court at an earlier hearing.

The Scottish Prison Service has confirmed news of the 33-year-old's passing, but details of the cause of death have no yet been released. The circumstances of McGinlay's death will be investigating at a Fatal Accident Inquiry to be held at a later date, they are mandatory in Scotland when a prisoner dies in custody.The SPS confirmed the news in a statement published online, it said: "Kieran McGinlay, 33, a prisoner at HMP Low Moss has died on April 24.

"He was remanded at Paisley Sheriff Court in 2023. Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course."
