An investigation is underway after a body was found on the side of a road in Maple Valley Tuesday.
According to the King County Sheriff's Office, Maple Valley police responded to the area of Maple Valley Black Diamond Road SE and 228th Ave SE around 11:05 a.m. on May 7, 2024, for a body found on the side of the road. Detectives are leading the "death investigation," the KCSO said.

Deputies said it's "too soon to determine the cause of death," which the King County medical examiner will ultimately determine.
"We realize that this incident is unsettling to the community of Maple Valley, but we ask for your patience while the investigation is being conducted," the KCSO said via email. "As soon as we are able to release details about the investigation, we will be sure to include the city of Maple Valley."
