The Durham District School Board is debunking online rumours that some schools have added litter boxes to restrooms.

The online statements said schools were adding litter boxes and allowing students outdoor bathroom breaks if they identify as so-called furries. “Students in DDSB schools express themselves and their identities in many ways. The DDSB is committed to supporting safe, welcoming and inclusive environments for all students and staff,” reads a statement from the DDSB Communications Department.

The online rumours weren’t just related to Durham schools, but many across the province, Canada and the U.S. many of which have also said the rumours are false.Ctrl+Enter
