“I’m excited for the players, I’m excited for our staff, and I’m excited for our school, but more than anything I’m excited for our community because they love their Broncos,” Dayton coach Blake Ware said.Texas City and Dayton combined for 29 points in the final six minutes of the first half. Montes drilled a 38-yard field goal as time expired to send the Broncos into halftime up 24-19.
They were a big-play team in the second quarter. QB Joey Duran tossed a 61-yard scoring pass to WR Kenyon Parker, and then a 71-yarder to WR Clyde Bruton on the first play of the drive only two minutes later to pull within 21-19.
