Days after Trump's Waco 'witch hunt' rally, poll finds most Americans see criminal case as political

Sixty two percent said the Manhattan district attorney's investigation into alleged hush-money payments Trump made to an adult film star during his 2016 presidential campaign is politically motivated. But 57 percent nonetheless say Trump should be barred from running for president again if criminal charges are brought.
"Yes, say Americans, it was all about him and not the country's well-being when Trump proclaimed he was targeted for arrest. And, yes he should be forever banished from office if he is charged as a criminal," Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy said in a statement about the results, which were released Wednesday.
