The Okotoks Dawgs have one more chance to win the 2022 Western Canadian Baseball League title.
But this time they’ll be at home in front of their fans at Seaman Stadium for a winner-take-all showdown.
The Dawgs dropped a 3-1 decision to the host Moose Jaw Miller Express in Game 2 of their best-of-three championship series on Wednesday night. Game 3 is set for Thursday , when the Dawgs will look to make the most of home-field advantage earned by being the top WCBL club during the regular season. A day after racking up 18 hits in a 12-3 rout of the Warriors in Okotoks, the Dawgs were limited to six hits on Wednesday in their first loss in six games this post-season.
Micah McDowell drove in Brendan Luther for Okotoks’ lone run in the sixth inning, which tied the game after Moose Jaw scored one in the first.Dawgs starter David Case allowed one earned run over five innings while striking out three. He was followed by relief efforts from Cade Herrmann, Branden LeBlanc and Julian Tymochko.
