Have you taken your Christmas tree down yet? 🎄

The festive season has drawn to a close for another year and it means you may be thinking about packing up your decorations. And one big job you may be dreading? Taking down your Christmas tree.

But what should you do with your real tree when you are finished with it and is there a correct date to pack up? According to Good House Keeping the answer is yes. When should I take my Christmas tree and decorations down? The experts state that people should take their Christmas trees down either on January 5 or January 6.

Where can I recycle my Christmas tree? If you have a brown bin you can simply place your real tree in your bin for kerbside collection. However, in many cases your bin may not be big enough to fit your tree in. You can cut your tree into manageable pieces to ensure the lid will close and avoid the tree being wedged in. You can check your brown bin collection date on the council website.
