The crash caused “severe damage” to the system of wires that powers DART light rail and will need complex repairs to be fully operational, the transit agency said Monday.A team has been working for more than 24 hours since the accident and hopes to have service restored by Wednesday evening.
Passengers traveling to DFW Airport should board the shuttle to get to Victory Station and then board the Orange Line to get to the airport.“This work is extensive, and passengers are encouraged to add in as much travel time as possible for their journey,” DART said in a statement Monday. “Look for DART signage and DART staff at the stations, and when possible, utilize alternate forms of transportation for your travels.”.
