Darren Fletcher was an established player for Scotland and the son of the ex Manchester United man could follow him
Darren Fletcher's son Tyler is back in the Tartan Army good books after reversing his decision to pledge his allegiance to England's national team.
Fletcher Jr. followed in his father's footsteps over the summer by joining Manchester United's youth academy from bitter rivals City, in which time he has represented Scotland and England at under-16 level. He began his international career with Scotland, though as players can play for any nation they are eligible for until senior level, Fletcher then moved to the Three Lions as he helped the youngsters win the Montaigu Tournament in April.
That raised question over who he would represent at senior level; notably, some of the England team in Declan Rice and Jack Grealish represented Ireland's youth teams before selecting Gareth Southgate's men at senior level, and it looked as though Fletcher would do the same. But the ball appears to be in Scotland's court once again after he was included in a youth team fixture last weekend.
Saturday's under-17 tie against Belarus saw him re-emerge for Scotland, who are now seemingly leading the chase for his full international pledge. His brother Jack, who also plays for both nations, has yet to make a decision on who he will play for though there are still many years to come for the duo to decide.
Edinburgh-born Darren featured in 80 games for Scotland in his heyday, including six caps at youth level before making his debut as a 19-year-old under Berti Vogts.
