Danny McBride has made a tidy career of playing blustering, often well-meaning, but idiotically bulldozing bozos. But his greatest acting challenge might still be ahead of him. , McBride moved down there a few years ago and things have been super interesting so far. Sure, he told a hilarious story about the difficulty of making new friends as an adult man, and how his wife set him up on a dad date with her friend's husband that led to his new side gig breaking into a local quarry to steal prehistoric shark's teeth.
That's not actually the weirdest thing he's done in his new hometown, though. “I had a pretty interesting guest shortly after we moved there,” McBride told Kimmel. “One day I got a phone call out of nowhere and the voice sounded familiar, but I wasn’t sure who it was. I was like, ‘Hello?’ and he was like, ‘Hey, is Danny there?’ He was like, ‘This is.'” He's not sure how 'Ye got his number -- it seemed like the rapper thought McBride still lived in L.A.
“He had an idea for a project that I think was a pretty brilliant idea,” McBride said. “He wanted to do a movie about the story of his life and he wanted me to play him.” The pair spent the day hanging out and talking during what McBride said was the "most incredible afternoon," which ended with Kanye watching McBride's seven year-old son play Fortnite.
