The police search was centred on Chiswick in west London where the terror suspect was eventually arrested and taken into custody. Detectives thanked the public for their assistance on the investigation, which began after the 21-year-old escaped Wandsworth Prison on Wednesday.

Mr Shearer says that even in Khalife's first of 14 weeks' of military training, he will have"started to learn how to live independently but among friends". "I heard he had been seen around west London and we have all said he could be around here," the 23-year-old said.
