Officers apprehended him just before 11am on Saturday and he is currently in police custody
Khalife is seen handcuffed while sitting on the ground wearing shorts and a t-shirt. He was reportedly found with a bike, a sleeping bag and a Waitrose cool bag of groceries.
“One of the cops said, ‘We’re undercover officers.’ I keep up with the news and I recognised him and said, ‘Is that the guy who was in prison?’, and one officer said, ‘yes’. “It was obviously a well-planned operation and they must have been following him because the officer was lying in wait for him. It’s a relief that they finally have him.”
Police believe Khalife strapped himself to the undercarriage of a food delivery van before clambering out near Wandsworth Roundabout, less than a mile from the jail.had been seen sleeping rough in the Chiswick area, which is about five miles from HMP Wandsworth, prior to his arrest.
