Former BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker has defended retired footballer David Beckham for visiting the Queen’s coffin
Dan Walker has come to David Beckham’s defence after someone claimed the footballing star went to visit the Queen Lying-in-State for “exposure”.
As he finally made his way into Westminster Hall – where the Queen will remain until her funeral on Monday, 19 September – the dad-of-four was overcome with emotion. The former BBC Breakfast and Strictly Come Dancing star tweeted: “Fair play to David Beckham for joining the #queueforthequeue. 12 hours plus apparently to pay his respects.”
Others were much more positive about David’s trip to see the Queen, with some noting how he didn’t skip the queue like other celebs such as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
