Multiple owners and league sources told ESPN that they have been told Snyder instructed his law firms to hire private investigators to look into owners and Goodell. One owner said he was told by Snyder directly that he “has dirt on Jerry Jones.”Jones has been a longtime supporter and friend of Snyder. However, the report mentioned a change in their relationship:
In a statement from the Commanders, Snyder’s lawyers denied that his relationship had soured with Jones, saying he and his wife, Tanya, “have a close and strong relationship with Jerry Jones and his entire family” and “great respect and admiration for one another.” The Commanders declined to make Dan Snyder, Tanya Snyder or team officials available for comment, but issued a statement through a spokesperson and outside lawyers denying that Dan Snyder has hired or authorized private investigators to investigate other team owners, league executives or Goodell.
League executive Jeff Miller said last month that there’s no timeline for completion of Mary Jo White’s investigation, which includes new allegations stemming from a congressional committee probe into the team’s history of workplace misconduct.
